(Honoris Causa) Lucian University, Romania[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<strong>Fr John Anthony McGuckin<\/strong>\u00a0 was the Nielsen Professor of Early Church History at Union Theological Seminary (1997\u20132017), as well as Professor of Byzantine Christianity at Columbia University in New York (2002\u20132017). He is the author of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/svspress.com\/saint-cyril-of-alexandria-and-the-christological-controversy\/?srsltid=AfmBOop2-9kXotB1AYwX_gHpnXuPsf94tN7X9pc0zjJ8bF5Y3d_qxc1L\">St Cyril of Alexandria and the Christological Controversy<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/svspress.com\/saint-gregory-of-nazianzus-an-intellectual-biography\/\">St Gregory of Nazianzus: An Intellectual Biography<\/a><\/em> and the editor and translator of the standard English edition of St Cyril&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/svspress.com\/on-the-unity-of-christ-st-cyril-of-alexandria\/\"><em>On the Unity of Christ<\/em><\/a>. <span style=\"font-variant-caps: normal;\">He currently serves on the faculty of church history at the University of Oxford and a fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
