Prof. Ebied receives OAM

Congratulations to our beloved Professor Rifaat Ebied for receiving the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) on the King’s Birthday. Professor Ebied has been a pioneer in the study of Syriac, Hebrew and Arabic, and has served as the University of Sydney’s first Professor of Semitic Studies since 1979. Prof. Ebied regularly offers courses on Christian Arabic, Syriac and Hebrew at St Cyril’s.
